While surfing the net I found this very old prehistoric Prada found in the cave of Armenia. The 5,500 years old, dates of shoes dates about 3500 BC and is about 1,000 years older than the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), and some 400 years older than the oldest parts of Stonehenge (The area was used in rituals and ~ 8000 BC, but the trench and chalk are about 3100 BC). The cave, Areni 1, is well known in the area due to their high visibility and the number of homes in the cave. However, archaeologists did not imagine discovering the oldest shoe in the world exists. Originally the team thought the shoe was 600-700 years due to the state that was highly preserved, three separate radiocarbon dating tests all gave the same results that this was the oldest known shoe in the world.

The previous oldest shoes in the world met at the foot of Ötzi, the Iceman, and a body of 5,300 years old found frozen in a glacier in Austria. Both old Otzi shoes and Areni shoes, however, have the difference of being the oldest known footwear in survival. Vegetable fibre sandals found in Arnold Research Cave, Missouri Areni fashioned shoe for years 2000-2500, while precisely not the shoes.

The old shoe Areni is also remarkably related to the styles of shoes that were found thousands of years after that period, looking like the pampooties that were popular in the Aran Islands of Ireland in the 1950's. Thus, while the old shoe Areni is the oldest shoe in the world, the style has lived for millennia.
